I've just uploaded my first image ever a yesterday and it got approved today. SOOO EXCITED.
I was quite prepared to get a rejection but phewwww lucky me.
Any advice on what to do now? How do people normally promote their images? |

Congratulations. I remember how exciting my first approval was and even more exciting for my first sale. I am happy to say that personally I feel just as excited with all my approvals and sales since then, I hope it is the same for you. :) |

haha get on Google chrome its really patronising. It spell checks you all the time.
This is how I know how to spell the word 'patronising'. |

I posted a JPG file and my original file was only 7MB but I did upload my TIFF file. I don't know where you get the 69mb size tiff file from. I have to look into it a bit more.

Beautiful pic and congratulations on being accepted as a contributor.
For your sake though I hope you have a permit from the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority for taking commercial photographs... they're very strict on that sort of stuff. The permit should be free since you're probably a small scale photographer, but none the less you still have to get a permit from the SHFA. If I were you I would remove this photo if you don't have a permit, they could take you to court over it.
Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more difficult to make a living in Australia as a landscape photographer as pretty much every council and parks or other authority that can, will impose a fee for or at least the requirement of obtaining a photography permit on all photographers that want to sell their work commercially.

I live on the Mornington Peninsula and I have had to get a permit from Parks Victoria to be able to take and sell photos of any Parks Victoria managed site.
That is why photos of Australian landmarks are in so much demand and what photographer can afford to pay for a permit for everyplace he/she wants to photograph in Australia? |
