I've been toying around with the idea of creating youtube tutorials for a while and I've finally gotten around to making one. This one focuses only on post production however. As usual, I go in depth - no fast talking quickie 4 minute tutorials for me. Just quality content, in depth, and advanced.

This is the image that is torn apart and dissected. It's composed of four separate images from my stock photography library.

Have fun! I'm starting work this weekend on some more videos. One is a photo shoot, the others are software reviews of some really cool cutting edge open source photography tools.

Hello Cardmaverick ! I just finished viewing your photo ID: 12857600 titled "Laughing woman by man's chest" and i am wondering if you can share some details how I can get a similar photo quality. In particular I am curious how close you were to the subject, how you were able to have her tack sharp and already blurring on the man's sleeve (i know you planned it that way). You only have maybe 1 foot of tack sharp area from her eyes and then the rest gets the dreamy look. How close to the final product was the RAW file out of the camera ? And how much and what type of Photoshop processing was required ? I have a Canon T2i with a 50 mm 1.8 prime lens and several 5000 kelvin daylight lamps at home and just started trying to shoot this type of shot about 1 week ago and tried PS Elements layer masks, diffusion, blending modes and everything else and can't get the quality you have. Not even close. Any info greatly appreciated, i can't sleep until i get this right.

thanks, Kevin
